Hi, I’m Kirsten.

The founder of Crossroads21. I created this service to support people going through separation or divorce with clarity, compassion, and practical guidance.

While I had a 15 year former career working as a qualified family and divorce lawyer, I know first-hand how overwhelming these moments can feel, emotionally, practically, and mentally.

In 2021, I went through my own divorce, and even though I was a divorce solicitor at the time, it felt like a completely different experience being the one going through it personally and not being the person giving the advice.

When you have no idea what to do or what questions you should even be asking, you just want to speak with one person who can give you straight forward answers and guide you with exactly what steps you need to take without spending a fortune. It’s easier to feel calmer when you feel more in control.

Wondering how you will be able to afford to pay for expert advice and guidance, especially during these uncertain times, is also a major worry. This is why I offer affordable fixed fee sessions that you can book in for, as and when you need help and reach certain stages of the separation or divorce journey.

This professional, practical and personal experience inspired me to offer this support service to others, which is so often missing when you go down the traditional routes of divorce and separation. You need someone who understands what you’re going through and gets it from both sides. I help anyone and everyone that is dealing with issues arising from a separation or divorce. Both men and women.

At Crossroads21, you won’t find any judgment about your situation or pressure. Instead, I offer a safe space to talk through your situation, understand your options, and take achievable steps forward. Whether you need to understand the facts and options available to you,  emotional support, help organising paperwork, or guidance for conversations with your ex, family members, solicitors or mediators, my approach is flexible and centred on what you need.

Every journey is unique, and my role is to provide steady guidance and reassurance along the way. By breaking down complex situations into small manageable steps for you to take yourself. I help you feel more in control and able to make decisions that are right for you at the right time.

Qualifications & Experience

I bring over 15 years of experience as a former qualified family and divorce solicitor, having worked extensively in Cheshire and Greater Manchester. I understand and can educate you on the legal processes and family law.

But not everything is about the law - it’s understanding and appreciating the real life human experience and practical issues that matter the most and having someone who listens, “gets it” and offers genuine support.

In 2021, I went through my own separation and divorce, giving me first-hand insight into the emotional and realistic journey that accompanies these life changes. This experience, combined with my professional background, shaped my approach to supporting others with empathy and clarity.

I left the legal profession in April 2025 and am no longer a practising solicitor. In September 2025, I launched Crossroads21 to offer a more affordable and accessible support service that supports you to do as much as possible yourself.

My aim is to help you take the steps you need to achieve an amicable resolution to all issues that can arise as a result of a separation or divorce. I do this by providing clear, honest, practical, and emotionally informed advice exactly when it’s needed most.

I am pleased I have been able to develop this service, as several times I have heard from clients either “I am so glad I found you”, “What would I do without you”, “I wish I had found you sooner” or “I didn’t realise someone like you exists”.

Education & Career Path:

  • Biology degree and Law degree

  • Started as a family law paralegal in 2007

  • Trainee solicitor in 2008

  • Qualified as a family solicitor in January 2010

Professional Experience:

Between 2010 and April 2025, I worked across a range of law firms, including small niche boutique family firms, high street practices, and large national law firms. This has given me extensive experience in family law and the opportunity to support clients in a wide variety of situations throughout England and Wales.

My combined legal expertise and personal experience ensure that I can offer practical, informed, and compassionate support tailored to each client’s unique circumstances.

Guiding you through life’s crossroads with clarity and compassion.
